Community Safety

A wide variety of community safety programs is available to you through Wood County Electric Cooperative. Call (903) 763-2203 or (800) 762-2203 to schedule any of the following programs in your area.

For children in pre-kindergarten through first grade, the Electric Safety from A to Zap video program includes opportunities for children to ask questions and talk about electrical safety at the end of the video.

For children in grades 5-12, the Get Charged! Electricity and You program includes the Discovery Channel School’s “Get Charged!” curriculum for learning about electricity.

For children in grades 6-12, the Arcing Demonstration delivers an unforgettable firsthand look at the power of electricity. The presentation stresses protecting against the dangers associated with electricity, especially hazards around power lines.

As a public service to help protect children in our community, Wood County Electric Cooperative supports the National Child Identification Program, the largest program of its kind in the country. Call us to request your free identification kit.
