Right of Way Crew - Tree Trimming

Jason, Cuco and John

Wood County Electric Cooperative appreciates the beauty of trees in our service area. Trees help protect our homes, beautify our neighborhoods, clean our air and add color to our lives. However, they can also be a constant threat to our member’s electric service. Tree limbs that fall on power lines can cause outages, which not only is an inconvenience for our members but also a safety hazard.

Public safety, reliable service and cost control are the reason that WCEC maintains an active right-of-way trimming program. WCEC’s right-of-way trimming crew consists of John Pruden, Refugio (Cuco) Santoy, and Jason Johnson.

The maintenance of 4,400 miles of distribution power lines in nine counties is a time consuming and costly job that requires constant attention. WCEC’s right-of-way crew takes this “growing” problem seriously and works to clear our lines of trees and limbs that may cause power outages.
