Employee of WCEC participates in "Race for the Cure"
Austin, Texas - Corie Wyrick, better known as the "SMARTPOWER" representative at WCEC, participated in "Race for the Cure" in Austin, Texas. She described the entire day as "emotional and inspiring" as she walked with her cousin, Denise, who is a breast cancer survivor.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of December 2004, its been just over a year since Corie's cousin began battling the disease. A successful operation in January of 2005 allowed Denise to participate for the first time as a survivor in the November "Race for the Cure."
Several of Denise's family members and friends were there to walk with and support her, including our very own Corie Wyrick. Denise described Corie as her "biggest supporter and sends the message to everyone that there is hope out there and new things are happening all the time with treatment for breast cancer."
